Seeking an Accounts Assistant - Client Accounting on behalf of our Gibraltar based client, study support offered!

Reporting to the Head of Client Accounting the principal responsibility of the Accounts Assistant is to complete various accounting requirements for a portfolio of clients.

Accounts Assistant Responsibilities:

• Prepare extended trial balances for clients, which includes reconciling all balance sheet accounts, posting year end accruals and prepayments
• Prepare draft financial statements for clients for review by the Manager and Director(s)
• Process amendments to financial statements where necessary
• Prepare management accounts on a regular basis
• Liaise with the Tax Office and Employment Office
• Have a good understanding of Gibraltar GAAP
• Prepare client payroll using EasyPay
• Liaise with auditors where applicable
• Ad hoc accounts tasks as and when required
• Be able to adapt to different accounting software
• Manage deadlines and client expectations
• Understand the firm’s policies and procedures and adhere to them in daily working practice

Accounts Assistant - Skills/Experience:

• Have at least 2 years’ experience in a similar accounting and payroll role
• Be working towards and taking exams to become AAT, ACCA qualified or similar
• Good communication skills both written and verbal
• Good time management skills
• Good relationship management and interpersonal skills
• Excellent IT skills including Word and Excel
